28 Days of Insight Meditation

For the month of February 2022, I offered 28 Days of Insight (also known as Vipassana} Meditation. You will find the recordings to these sessions below.

The name Buddha means “one who is awake,” and it is this experience that is the very heart and essence of vipassana, or insight meditation. It offers a way of practice that can open us to see clearly our bodies, our hearts, our minds, and the world around us and develop a wise and compassionate way to relate to and understand them all.

This practice of insight meditation comes from the original core of the Buddha’s teachings as transmitted for 2,500 years in the Theravada tradition of southern Asia. But it is not an “Asian” practice. It is a practice by which anyone can awaken to the truth of life and become free.

– Joseph Goldstein & Jack Kornfield from “ Seeking the Heart of Wisdom”

During these sessions, I lead you in this meditation practice and also incorporate additional practices, which is also a Yoga Alliance continuing education online course that I created.

In these sessions, you will learn to incorporate Concentration, Samatha (Calm Abiding and Tranquility),The Five Hindrances,The Brahma Viharas of Metta (Loving-Kindness), Karuna (Compassion), Mudita (Appreciative Joy) and Upekka (Equinamity).

In these 28 days of sessions, we focus on the Choiceless Awareness (also called Insight Meditaiton) method which is fluid and unstructured as we explore all sensory phenomena. In the online course, I also share the Goenka method that you find in the 10 day retreats.

I have included exercises for some of the days of meditation as well as resources. Those are located on the bottom of the page.

See the class schedule for our continued offerings of Insight (Vipassana) Meditation to continue to support your practice and ask any questions that you may have.

Most of what I offer is in the Buddhist tradition known as dana, a Pali word meaning generosity. Each person’s situation is different. The suggestion is simply a guideline. You may give less or you may give more. The principle is that generosity should be a source of joy for you from a sense of appreciation for the teachings. Your dana is received with gratitude.

Suggested Donation is $5 per class session.
